I know two people personally who have died in the last year from Dengue, one in the last few weeks. Both are from San Pedro and caught it here. Both had other health issues and so were vulnerable. I know about a half a dozen people in San Pedro who have had Dengue in the last year. When we moved here, just over 4 years ago, it was not prevalent. It seems to be now.

Dengue mosquitoes are the ones that come out in the daytime and they have to have bitten someone with Dengue to carry it.

Cross Border Cooperation on Dengue

posted (August 3, 2010) News 7

Belize recorded its first dengue hemorrhagic death in mid-July. Since then we've heard nothing from the ministry of health on any concerted assault on the current dengue outbreak - in fact the best that they've done is start airing some dengue awareness ads from - like - the 90's.....

like... dude... since when do TV reporters use 70's stoner lingo?

also noticed, the # of cases is fluctuating... from 379 down to 348.

wondered if... they withdrew some, due to re-diagnosis, after testing in Trinidad?

it's kind of Mexico to start testing the samples for free... that's good news.
